Vision Statements & Associated Goals

The following vision statements have guided the MHSA since July of 2005 with many of the goals being accomplished.

During the 2007-2008 year membership feedback will be solicited regarding the MHSA's mission, vision and goals. From this, the Board of Directors will establish a four year plan that will direct the association from August 2008 to July 2012.

If you feel that we are missing something or you would like to see other areas added to the list please provide us with your feedback.

Technical Programs - Referee Development

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA Referee Development Program has a large number of referees at all levels who are protected by all members of the association as they progress in their development.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA has a strategy for the Recruitment of Referees.
  2. The MHSA has a strategy train, develop and retain Referees.

Technical Programs - Player Development

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA Player Development Program attracts players at all levels because they all receive good coaching & soccer development in a challenging & fun environment.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA has a strategy for the Recruitment of players at all age and ability levels.
  2. The MHSA has a strategy train, develop and retain players at all age and ability levels.

Technical Programs - Coaching Development

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA’s Coaching Development Program has more qualified applicants than available coaching positions who receive continuing education and full support of the association.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA has a strategy for the Recruitment of coaches at all age and ability levels.
  2. The MHSA has a strategy train, develop and retain coaches at all levels.

Community Relations & Marketing - Sponsorship

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA Sponsorship Program helps keep soccer fees down while giving sponsors’ companies recognition for their support.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA has a clear understanding of the Annual Sponsorship required to successfully run all of their Leagues.
  2. The MHSA has a clear understanding of the Annual Sponsorship required to successfully run all of their Tournaments.
  3. The MHSA has a clear understanding of the Annual Sponsorship required to successfully run a Rep Team Program.
  4. The MHSA has a strategy for the Annual recruitment of sponsors for the Indoor Soccer Boards.

Community Relations & Marketing - Communication

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA communicates basics of all programs within the association to ALL members four times per year.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA consistently keeps the local media, their sponsors and members aware of its activities.

Facilities – Facility Development

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA’s facilities are above average with safe, well maintained surfaces and professional looking equipment.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA Fourth Field at the Leisure Centre by August 31, 2007.
  2. The MHSA has a free standing soccer office, storage building and meeting facility (No Basement-Slab) by July 2010.
  3. The MHSA has better goals and nets being used within their programs.
  4. The MHSA ensures that all of their fields and the surfaces are safe for use.
  5. The MHSA has secured a second Indoor Field by Indoor 2008.

Competitive Levels - High School

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA High School Program provides a healthy, competitive and challenging environment for soccer in Medicine Hat.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s High School League has clearly defined Rules and Regulations by March of 2006.
  2. The MHSA’s High School League consistently sends teams to compete in the ASA’s Tier 4 Provincials.

Competitive Levels - Crusaders Program

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA Crusaders (Club) Program provides a healthy, competitive and challenging environment for soccer in Medicine Hat.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s Rep Team program has teams of both genders at the U12, U14, U16 and U18 levels.
  2. The MHSA’s Rep Team program has the same uniforms, track suits and other gear.

Competitive Levels - Senior Soccer

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA Senior Program provides a healthy, competitive and challenging environment for soccer in Medicine Hat.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s Senior Program actively works for an increased integration between the Minor and Senior Programs.
  2. The MHSA’s Senior Program actively works to ensure that there is a friendlier sporting environment for individuals to participate in.

Competitive Levels - Mini Soccer (U6 & U8)

Objective (Vision):

  • The purpose of the MHSA Mini Program is to introduce Parents and Children to the exciting and fun game of soccer.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s Mini Program has at least 4 volunteers to assist the Mini Director.
  2. The MHSA’s Mini Program actively works to involve parents in the season’s activities.
  3. The MHSA’s Mini Program actively works to provide a basic understanding of the game of soccer to all volunteer coaches.
  4. The MHSA’s Mini Program ensures that it teaches age specific soccer skills to every registered child.

Competitive Levels - Minor Soccer (U10-U18)

Objective (Vision):

  • The purpose of the MHSA Minor Program is to develop and improve soccer skills in a fun and safe environment.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s Minor Program has parent volunteers to help organize each specific age group.
  2. The MHSA’s Minor Program allows for more specific evaluations of players and coaches.
  3. The MHSA’s Minor Program allows for the introduction and support of young referees into the game of soccer.
  4. The MHSA’s Mini Program ensures that it teaches age specific soccer skills to every registered child.

Administration - Registration

Objective (Vision):

  • The MHSA’s Registration process is easier to understand and access.

Basic Goals:

  1. The MHSA’s office sets registration dates and deadlines early.
  2. The MHSA advertises more efficiently their registration process.
  3. The MHSA’s actively works to make the Mall Wide Registration Process easier for parents.
